The 2009 graduating class of Earlsboro High School will hold a baccalaureate at 6 p.m May 17 at Earlsboro Baptist Church, 306 N. Layton.
Commencement exercises are scheduled for 7 p.m. May 22 at the Kelly Haney Center on the Seminole State College campus.
The Earlsboro High School class of 2009 includes 19 graduates with two valedictorians and two salutatorians.
This year’s valedictorians, Joshua Trey Dyer and Kolin Joshua Keith Jones, each plan to attend Oklahoma State University upon graduation from Earlsboro High School.
Dyer, son of Cameron and Katina Dyer, holds a 4.12 GPA and is active with various clubs and organizations. Among these are the Spanish Club, Archery Club, Earlsboro Hall of Fame, National Honor Society, Speech and Drama and Yearbook.
Dyer was also named a State Superintendent Academic Scholar and plans to pursue a degree in aeronautical engineering.
Jones, son of Blake and Rachelle Jones, holds a 4.13 GPA. He is active as a Student Council representative and a Hugh O’Brian Youth Junior Facilitator and is a member of the Earlsboro Academic Team, as well as the Earlsboro Drama, Spanish and Speech clubs.
In addition to these accomplishments, Jones is president of his senior class, is co-founder of the Students Assisting Students Organization and is involved in Diamond Leadership, Legacy Leaders, Ministry to Men Department and was named the Little River Conference Most Valuable Basketball Player 2009.
Jones received many other acknowledgements and scholarships for his academic and athletic achievements and plans to pursue a degree in architecture and business.
Salutatorians are Jessica Lynn Bramhall, daughter of Rovert and Theresa Brumhall, with a 3.51 GPA, and Patrick Karl Bryan, son of Clyde and Liz Bryan, with a 3.55 GPA.
Bramhall is an active member of Business Professionals of America and plans to receive certification as a certified public accountant from Gordon Cooper Technology Center.
Bryan is a member of the National Honor Society, the Earlsboro Academic Team and the Spanish Club. His high school athletic participation includes basketball and baseball.
Bryan plans to attend Oklahoma City University to pursue a degree in pharmacy.
