Brill Motor Speedway, located in Meeker, will entertain the Wichita-based National Championship Racing Association Wednesday night.
It will mark the first time the Association has appeared at Brill Speedway and also be the second race on the new Oklahoma modified schedule.
The event will be the first of two scheduled stops for the NCRA Oklahoma modifieds, one of three new divisions NCRA will introduce for 2009. Brill will also host two sport modified shows a well as an NCRA late model event June 26.
Mark Brill is in his fourth year of ownership for Brill Speedway, which was built in 1986.
A spokesman said there isn’t a major difference between the modifieds, seen on a regular Friday or Saturday night of racing, and NCRA Oklahoma modifieds.
“The only difference is one race fans won’t be able to see from the stands and that is the tires,”
the spokesman said. ““Hoosier racing tires add to the season-ending point fund and came up with the two types of tires. The Hoosier IMCA and Hoosier 500 unstamped will be allowed. The McCreary G-60 tires will be allowed to compete however.”
The spokesman also said that steel heads are required but aluminum heads will be allowed with 50 pounds added to the front of the motor plate.
The winner of the race will earn $1,000 with $200 going to each driver making the 20-car feature finale.
Brill Motor Speedway gates will open at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday with racing beginning at 7. Limited modifieds and factory stocks will compete.
