During the run of the Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art’s regional art exhibit, Doing What We CAN to Help, the museum is waiving the admission fee for each visitor who donates one canned food item. All of the food items will be given to the Shawnee Salvation Army in time to help feed needy families during the holiday season. The exhibit ends on Sunday.
Artists from Shawnee, Oklahoma City and the surrounding communities have created artworks that reference canned foods, including artworks created on cans or from can materials, or artworks that include representations of cans.
For accommodations on the basis of disability or more information, call the museum at 878-5300 or visit www.mgmoa.org.
