Saturday is the day for outdoor festivities as the Art, Wine and Music Festival fills historic Bell Street in downtown Shawnee.

The event, back this summer after a year off, will offer activities from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., said Ronda White, executive director of Downtown Shawnee Inc.

Four area wineries — Parsons Vineyard and Winery, Grape Ranch Winery, Legend Winery and Oak Hill Winery — will have samples of their wines. People can purchase wine-tasting kits, which comes with a glass and five tasting tickets. Additional tickets can be purchased.

From noon to 12:30 p.m., Pat Copple will sing gospel songs. The Blood-Washed Blues Band from Konawa plays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., and KIRC radio will provide a live remote from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Headlining performer Pake McEntire will perform two shows, at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.

A Kids Zone, featuring a bounce, slide and obstacle course, will be on the grassy area next to the Hornbeck Theatre. Fine art and crafts will be sold, and food vendors will be available, along with regular Bell Street eateries Knuckles Pub and Coney Island.

The Absentee Shawnee tribe is sponsoring a one-mile fun run and walk at 7:15 p.m. beginning at the corner of Main and Bell. “It’s a great way to get some exercise, and we’ll be walking through the downtown area, so you can see some of the shops we have,” White said.

Former University of Oklahoma football player Eric Thunander will sign copies of his book, “Silent Thunder,” from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
