“Hamilton: The Musical” has been a surprise hit on Broadway this season. A longtime fan of show tunes and musicals, I was blown away when I described it to a friend as the musical that “convinced me of the merits of the hip hop genre.” File that away in the list of words I never thought would leave my lips, but it's true.
