Oklahoma-based and nationally distributed record label Tate Music Group (TMG) is sponsoring their second annual Artist of the Year contest to take place on Friday, February 26, at 7 p.m. in Oklahoma City.

Three artists selected by online voters from across the nation will perform an original single before an esteemed team of judges and a live audience at the SandRidge Energy building in downtown Oklahoma City. The competition will also be streaming live from TateMusicGroup.com.

The performances will be judged by a panel including Ryan Tate, President and CEO of Tate Publishing and Enterprises and Tate Music Group; Michael Turner, Vice President of Marketing, New Day Christian Distributors; Don Johnson, Grammy award winning producer who has worked with Reba McIntire, Vince Gill, Barry Manilow, and more; and Jim Halsey, renowned Oklahoma music icon who boasts an impressive résumé, including his role as the longtime manager of The Oak Ridge Boys.

Three finalists were selected after hundreds of hopefuls submitted their original songs for review. These finalists, chosen by thousands of voters, include Christian alternative artist Chuck Tocco, of Brownstown, Michigan; pop rock artist Darin Rex, of Port Royal, Pennsylvania; and Contemporary Christian band Jupiter Wind, of Spartanburg, South Carolina. One of the three finalists will be awarded $20,000 in cash and other prizes from Tate Music Group.
