 The Lady Savages of Tecumseh went 2-1 Saturday at the Newcastle Festival.
Tecumseh opened the day with a 10-0, four-inning triumph over Frederick. Tecumseh outhit Frederick 12-5 as Paige Lenaburg sparkled at 3-of-3 with three singles, a RBI and a run scored.
Haley Hernandez drove in two runs off two doubles while Autumn Walker supplied four runs batted in with a double and single. Kenra O’Shell added two singles.
Wayne then handed Tecumseh a 5-4 loss as the Lady Savages scored single runs in the second, third, fourth and fifth innings.
Collecting three hits apiece for the losers were Micala Dugan, Pebbles Paxson and Tara Goodman. Dugan collected a single, double and triple.
In its final challenge of the day, Tecumseh was outhit 13-12 but still recorded a 6-2 win over Newcastle.
Lenaburg had two hits, including a solo homer run in the first inning. O’Shell added a grandslam home run in the third as Tecumseh netted five runs.
Paxson finished with two singles.
Tecumseh recorded two double plays.
Tecumseh, 16-11, will travel to Purcell Monday for a 4 p.m. contest.
