Dale, Okla. —

Trace Dilliner and Ty Flewallen both had home runs as Dale opened its 2008 fall baseball season Thursday with a 13-2 win over Wanette in the Dale Tournament.
Dilliner’s two-run homer came in the first inning while Flewallen’s blast was a solo shot to lead off the second. Flewallen also had an RBI double in the first inning and finished 2-for-2.
Dalton Streber also went 2-for-2 for the Pirates.
Two Dale pitchers each tossed two innings before the game was stopped in the fourth inning. Starter Namath Farriell (1-0) had three strikeouts while giving up Latta’s only two hits. Reliever Landon Coon also struck out three and didn’t surrender a hit.
Two proved to be an unlucky number on the first day of the tournament. It was the losing team’s score in all four contests. Besides Latta’s loss, Rock Creek fell to Byng 10-2, Latta whipped Rattan 18-2 and Oktaha downed Ft. Towson 8-2.
Weather permitting, Dale will face Byng at 7:30 Friday evening.
