It will be Dale and Latta in today’s 6 p.m. finals of the Dale Baseball Tournament.
The host Pirates blanked Byng 4-0 Friday while Latta knocked off Oktaha, 6-3.
Dale (2-0) advanced when right-hander Tyler Holton threw a five-hitter against Byng. All five hits were singles. Holton fanned seven batters and didn’t permit a walk.
The Pirates opened the scoring in the first inning on an RBI single by Ty Flewallen. Flewallen had two singles in the game.
Dale added a single run in the second, then two in the fifth on run-scoring doubles by Michael Harris and Landon Coon.
In other tournament games Friday, Fort Towson inflicted a 6-3 defeat on Rattan while Rock Creek flogged Wanette, 10-1.
