The Indians of Asher needed just six innings to sweep a doubleheader from Macomb Thursday, 15-0 and 10-0. Both games went three innings.
In the opener, Asher sent 12 batters to the plate in an eight-run first inning, then paraded 11 to the plate in a six-run second.
The Indians finished with nine hits. Macomb helped Asher’s cause with five errors.
Victorious hurler Dakota Magby didn’t allow a hit in three innings. He fanned four and walked one in improving to 6-2.
Rod Williams fueled Asher’s nine-hit attack with three singles and an RBI. Matt Palmer drove in three runs via a double and single, while Magby had two RBIs off two singles.
In the second game, Asher outhit Macomb 9-2 as Damian Dosher earned his first pitching win of the season. Doshier whiffed two and walked one.
Asher got off to a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first as Tyler Boles clubbed a three-run double.
Fred Oliphant had two hits, including a two-run home run to deep left center in the second inning. It was Oliphant’s second HR of the season.
Doshier and Palmer added two singles apiece.
Asher (19-10) is slated to play a 3:30 p.m. twin bill today at New Lima.
