Bethel and Seminole warmed up for next week’s Class 3A district tournament with a 21-hit slugfest Monday.
Seminole came out on top, 16-8, behind a 12-hit attack that featured home runs from Tim Rogers and Garrett Clark.
Rogers led off the game with a home run (second of season) and Seminole went on to tally four runs in the inning.
Bethel (21-6) retaliated with six runs in the bottom of the first but added just two more runs, those coming in the fifth.
Seminole, unranked and possessor of a 14-12 record, tallied three runs in both the second and sixth innings and also netted six runs in the fourth.
Clark’s first homer of the season was a two-run job in the fourth.
Seminole starter Austen Harvey and reliever Nolan Davenport were also Chieftain offensive leaders. Harvey chalked up four runs batted in with two doubles in a 3-of-4 effort. Davenport went 3-of-5 with two RBIs.
For Bethel, Mark Traver drove in four runs off a double and home run. Wildcat Dylon Lamb added a double and single.
Bethel will oppose Holdenville Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in first-round play of the Bethel Wildcat Classic.
Seminole will clash with Byng at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Byng Tournament.
On Thursday, April 30, Seminole and Bethel will launch a best two-of-three district tournament at 1 p.m. at Bethel.
