STROUD — Taylor Woodall smashed a run-scoring triple in the top of the seventh inning Tuesday to propel Meeker to a 4-3 fast-pitch softball victory over Stroud.
Woodall’s one-out hit bought home Kelsha Orso, who walked to lead off the seventh, then advanced to second on a fielder’s choice.
Freshman Marissa Hackbarth was the winning pitcher after coming on for starter Kristen Goodnight in the sixth inning. Hackbarth, in two innings of relief, didn’t surrender a run and permitted one hit.
Goodnight, in a five-inning stint, allowed five hits, three runs and fanned four.
Meeker (4-3) compiled eight hits. Orso and Marisa Lewis collected two singles apiece. Lewis had an RBI single in the sixth inning.
Meeker is slated to play at Shawnee Thursday at 5 p.m.
