Balloon Release

Students at Sequoyah Elementary School launched blue balloons Tuesday at the school in celebration of being selected a Blue Ribbon School by State Superintendent of Schools Sandy Garrett. Sequoyah was chosen for demonstrating academic superiority and having demonstrated dramatic gains in student achievement. This is a second time a school in Shawnee has been given the honor.
