Stillwater, Okla. —

Shannon James Mallory and Sean Thomas Mallory, both 2009 graduates of Tecumseh High School, are among 120 freshman students selected to receive a $1,500 President’s Leadership Council Scholarship at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater this fall.
This special freshman scholarship is based upon academic achievement, leadership potential and school and community service. Each student will take a three-hour leadership class and will serve on the President’s Leadership Council, which is both an honorary and a working organization, according to the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs.
As part of the President’s Leadership Council, students will be expected to continue excellence in these areas as they continue to develop their personal leadership skills. Students selected for the council have a combined total of more than 4,500 community service hours each year.
Shannon Mallory, the son of Robert and Julie Mallory of Tecumseh, plans to major in pre-veterinary medicine. He also has received an OSU Academic Excellence scholarship and an OSU Freshman scholarship.
Sean Mallory, also the son of Robert and Julie Mallory of Tecumseh, plans to major in biosystems and agricultural engineering. He also has received a McAlister Scottish Rite scholarship, a Rotary Club scholarship and a Tecumseh Booster Club scholarship.
