SHAWNEE, Okla. —
I heard a lady on the radio say that Oklahomans need new laws to ban smoking from all restaurants, bars and public places. Many restaurants put in the prescribed ventilation units to meet the last set of laws which were enacted.
Now, because other states have stiffer laws, she feels that we need to follow suit. I am not a smoker, but I do feel that businesses have the right to allow smoking if they want to. If I don’t want to smell the smoke, I merely shop elsewhere.
Give activists any portion of our freedom and they want more. Like our ever increasing taxes, they never quite have enough to satisfy them and they take more away from us gradually, but irrevocably.
