AP —

Debbie Morgan, wife of state House Democratic leader Danny Morgan, died Tuesday following a brief illness. She was 47.
A spokeswoman for the House Democratic caucus, Valorie Rodgers, said Debbie Morgan died Tuesday evening at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center.
Rodgers said Debbie Morgan had not shown symptoms of serious illness until shortly before her death. Rodgers said she experienced some dizziness on Friday and was rushed to the emergency room on Tuesday when her conditioned worsened.
Other details, including a cause of death and funeral arrangements, were not immediately available.
In a statement, Gov. Brad Henry said his thoughts and prayers and those of first lady Kim Henry were with Debbie Morgan’s family.
“Kim and I are deeply saddened by the sudden and unexpected death of Debbie Morgan,” Henry said.
House Speaker Chris Benge, R-Tulsa, said the state had lost “a dedicated servant.”
“It is easy to forget the sacrifices lawmakers’ spouses make each day, and I know Debbie will be missed not only by her family, but by our legislative family as well,” Benge said.
“She was a great mom to her kids, a wonderful wife to Danny, and a genuinely nice lady,” said Senate co-President Pro Tem Glenn Coffee, R-Oklahoma City. “The Morgan family is very much in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult hour.”
Danny Morgan, D-Prague, is serving his third as a state representative from Creek and Lincoln counties. Morgan, 49, is a former mayor of Prague and president of Morgan Well Service, Inc.
In addition to her husband, Debbie Morgan is survived by two children, Zac and Danielle.
