Well, both sides have picked their mates and we will now be up to our eyeballs in politics until the election is over and a winner named. Some of us will change our minds, maybe more than once, before we nail it down. That’s not all bad, from my point of view. It at least shows that you are listening to what’s being said.
My problem is that I like some of each candidate’s plans for the future. I think John McCain would be a better choice, what with the world being in the mess it’s in, rather than turning things over to a young, extremely liberal Barack Obama. McCain will bring about change because he knows it’s needed and knows it’s long overdue. His vice president will also help him bring the government back to the people, where it belongs.
Obama and Biden will only grow the government, which we all know is much too big and intrusive. I think Obama has a plan for America that is like no other before. He would give more of our tax dollars to the United Nations for charity around the world (see Senate Bill S-2433).
This nation outgives the world. Charity begins at home. Obama would make gun ownership almost non-existent. These are just a few of the items on his agenda that I disagree with. I do agree with him on a tax increase for those earning more than $250,000. He would roll back the rate to the level used during the Clinton era, which seemed to work, and sent none of these people into the poverty line. We all have the same choice, so vote and make it count.
