SHAWNEE, Okla. —

To the Editor:

Will the United States implode? Each passing day, we are closer to a time of unimagined consequences and we are not talking about years. We have failed to provide for our energy needs. The world runs on oil. It doesn’t run on hydrogen or any other futuristic energy source today. Six months ago, we knew gas would be $4 per gallon by mid summer of this year. By October of this year, oil is expected to reach $200.per barrel. The cost of food is tied directly to the cost of oil. The ethanol program has to be the biggest farce of all time. It cost as much to produce a gallon of ethanol as it does to buy the gallon of gas. We should kill the ethanol program now. It is taking away from our food source. If we would have had a proactive Congress during the Clinton and Bush years we would not be facing the inevitable melt down of the not too distant future. Environmentalists in Congress have stopped our oil companies from drilling offshore and in northern Alaska all this time. We could have had nuclear power plants online by this time producing electricity and saving oil. To add insult to injury, there is no leadership available from the presidential candidates. McCain does not have an answer. He says, “I will not allow drilling in ANWR, I am an environmentalist.” Hillary Clinton and Obama Barack know even less what to do. Obama’s campaign slogan “Change” is a nebulas term. Nobody really knows what “change” means. What Obama really stands for is exemplified by his voting record in Congress. His record is the most liberal of all United States senators. That will not go away. If justice had been served during the Arkansas Whitewater/Madison Guarantee debacle, Hillary would have a prison record today instead of running for President of the United States. All of her associates served time. How will $7 or $8 per gallon of gas affect our nation? What will food cost? Only God can help the USA now. The question is, will this nation repent and put the blame where it belongs? America has been disobedient to God, embracing the god of human secularism. Read and remember this scripture (II Chronicles 7:14).

We have no other option.
