I have been amazed at the remarks made about Brad Henry and David Boren not voting for Hillary Clinton. Not every one in Oklahoma voted for Clinton and no one has to follow a certain Party—Democrat or Republican. Our freedom allows us to make up our own minds about the candidate we want to support.
This contest has gone on far too long. I do not understand why the Democrats wanted to start these primaries so early in the year. There were some very good people in the race who would have made very good leaders for this country, but they had to drop out. The dollar amount being spent was more than they wanted to spend or could spend. As a result, we end up with three candidates who have spent millions of dollars on television appearances and debates plus visiting around the different states. That money could have helped so many people in this country to live a better life.
We don’t have a chance to vote for the candidate who is the most honest and has a better leadership quality. We have to vote for the one with the most money so they can out-spend the others. It is a shame that one more time we have to vote for the lesser of three evilsóand not for the best qualified person.
It is strange that the Democrat Party, who always faults the republican Party for giving the rich a tax break, has now made the election one that only a rich person can win.
This primary system needs to be changed back to the method that allowed the people at the convention to elect the Candidate.
