Where have the statesmen gone?

SHAWNEE, Okla. —

Where have all the statesmen gone? The people of iron conviction standing firm before public opinion because it is the right thing to do, and not the thing to do right now.
Kennedy’s “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do or your country” has been demeaned by Hillary’s “We are going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good.” Or “God bless the America we are trying to create” and “I remember landing under sniper fire.”

Reagan’s “If we ever forget that we are one nation under God, then we will become a nation gone under” is sullied by Obama’s (people in smalltowns) “get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.” Or “No one is pro-abortion,” but “I am going to teach (my daughters) first about values and morals, but if they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby.” Coolidge’s “Don’t expect to build up the weak by pulling down the strong” because “the chief business of the American people is business” are mocked by McCain’s “our nation has both an obligation and self-interest in facing head-on the serious environmental, economic and national security threat posed by global warming.” And “I’m going to be honest. I know a lot less about economics than I do about military and foreign policy issues. I still need to be educated.”

I pray to be pleasantly surprised enough by one of them to place my vote with a clear purpose, but as of today the merciless Hillary Hussein McCain chimera trudges blindly onward to November, trampling the promise of America underfoot, dripping self serving arrogance from its fangs.

Run for your lives!
