To the Editor:
If anyone should doubt the things that Rickey Dale Crain has said in his letters to the editor concerning Colorado’s new law (SB200 a law that bans discrimination based on the “perception” of gender), consider the following case examples: Michael Marcavage, a resident of Lansdowne, Pa., and director of Repent America, faces up to 15 months in jail and a $2,800 fine for reading from the Bible at the local borough council meeting.
During the public comment/question period, Michael was ordered not to read from the Bible by the president of the council, who stated God’s word is “hate speech.” A priest, Father Alphonse de Valk, is being investigated as a potential criminal under a federal “hate crimes” law for quoting from the Bible. He is being targeted using a Canadian provision under which no defendant ever has been acquitted, according to a new report. Ottawa (Reuters) an attempt to broaden Canada’s hate-crimes laws to include protection for homosexuals has sparked a fierce debate in Parliament over whether the Bible and the Koran could be banded as hate literature. A Swedish Pentecostal pastor was sentenced to prison for offending homosexuals in a sermon. People in most of Oklahoma have access to radio station 95.1 FM. I listen to it often while driving. I have heard different pastors and James Dobson of Focus on the Family discuss this scary situation often. I have heard local pastors talk about hypothetical situations where preaching directly from God’s word out of the Holy Bible could possibly get them into serious trouble under the “hate crimes” laws. This is a wakeup call to a situation that is getting out of hand. Nobody is forced to believe the Bible. God gives us conditions to abide by. People can accept his word or reject it. Christians do not hate homosexuals. We are not to judge; that’s God’s job. It does give us an idea of how he will judge some. We are losing our liberty and freedom in the United States. However, according to scripture, during the end times, things will continue to deteriorate. There will be a great turning away from God’s word.
