Leird graduates from basic training

Pfc. Shelley N. Leird graduated from basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, in Missouri.
During the nine weeks of training, Leird studied the U.S. Army’s mission, history, tradition and core values and physical fitness.
Leird received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching and rifle marksmanship.
Leird studied armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.
Leird is the daughter of Robin Leird, Shawnee, and Tim Leird, Bethel Acres, and is a 2009 graduate of Shawnee High School.
