Tavi Ponder and Michael Brzozowski, both of Oklahoma City, announce their engagement and upcoming marriage on June 27, 2009, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Harrah. A reception and dance will follow at the Aldridge Hotel in Shawnee.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Rick and Becky Ponder of Shawnee, graduated from Liberty Academy in 2006 and received her associate’s degree in Applied Technology from Seminole State College in 2007.
She is a junior at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond where she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in advertising and is employed with Legacy Bank in Oklahoma City as a universal associate. She is the granddaughter of Lloyd and Nona Kintsel of Drumright and Jim and Karen Ponder of Checotah. Great-grandparents are Ethel and the late Ray Ponder and the late Ada and Clyde Clay, all of Okemah.
Michael, the son of Jerome & Mary Brzozowski of Harrah, graduated from Harrah High School in 2003 and from St. Gregory’s University in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in natural science. He is the grandson of Edward and Grace Brzozowski of Harrah and Ruth and the late Joseph Hansen of Oklahoma City. He is attending the University of Oklahoma’s College of Medicine where he just completed his second year of medical school. The couple plans to spend their honeymoon in San Francisco and will reside in Oklahoma City until the groom completes his residency.
