Well, fitness enthusiasts the race to a new you in 2010 is just around the corner. Everyone should really be excited about how their quality of life is going to improve this year through exercise.
I am able to show this much confidence in each of you because everyone has the ability to believe in themselves and achieve.
I truly feel that if you believe it, you can achieve it.  Folks, please believe that you do have major control over your health and fitness success or failure.
C’mon, you tell me….what’s it going to be… weight loss, more muscle, stronger heart, more flexibility, internal health?
The choice is totally yours. Say your goals out loud with a passion if you have too. Say them to yourself over and over again, and then believe it will be only a matter of time until you achieve them. Just remember that you can, and you will attain your realistic goals with consistent action that make them a reality.
I challenge you to “visually” see yourself at your goal weight, accept no less, and follow up by doing exactly what it takes to get there.  Have confidence in yourself to find and follow the right path. You have probably had success in the past and you can have even better success in the future if you put your mind too it.
I think many would agree that fitness is just like ‘life” in the sense that they are both what you make them. They can be viewed as very negative or very positive experiences.
I challenge you to please see your hard work and efforts in improving your overall health and active quality of life as a definite positive.
I continue to talk about thinking positive because your success or failure is drastically impacted by your thoughts.
In World class or professional sport when a top performer has an elevated state of mind they refer to this as, “in the zone”.
When peak athletes get into the “zone” their performance will escalate above the others and produce amazingly positive results for their team. In terms of your fitness programs I want to challenge you to get into the “zone” as well.
Be very focused on what you are trying to do and let nothing interfere with your success.
As with all of us, we are sometimes prevented from achieving peak performance because of worry, distractions, or lack of connection with our goals.
I challenge you to relax and clear your mind of all distractions and focus your attention like a laser on what is important for making your goal happen.
As you move towards your goals this upcoming year I challenge you to get into the “fitness zone.” It is truly a wonderful place to be, and when you get there, the following is what you will feel.
Optimism:  You will feel good about yourself and what’s going on in your life.  You will welcome challenge and are confident about the outcome.
Focus: You will be totally involved with what you are doing, mind and body.  You will feel like you are in control.
Flow: There will be an automatic, natural flow between mind and body.  Fitness success will not feel like a struggle anymore.  You expect results and they take less effort to attain.
Energized: Like a second wind, you are relaxed and mentally alert.  You are healthier, have high energy, and feel more alive.
There you have it… I challenge you to get in the “zone” to attain your fitness goals.  Your results can be as awesome as you choose to tell yourself you are going to make them.
Until next week, please go out and make it a great fitness day.
