Patients and visitors of Unity Health Center may find it easier to get from their cars to the hospital and back, due to a recent gift from the Unity Health Center Volunteer Auxiliary. The volunteer auxiliary purchased a sporty, six-seat, purple golf cart to offer guest parking lot shuttle services.
Volunteers are being trained to drive the golf cart. The UHC shuttle service will began providing rides on Tuesday, May 5. The shuttle service will run Monday through Friday, 8–4 p.m. It will circulate through the parking lots offering rides to guests who would like to ride.
“The volunteers are really excited to be providing this service to the patients and visitors of Unity Health Center,” said Ardella Armstrong, director of Volunteer Services
“This is just another way that Unity is trying to always provide the best care for the patients and visitors,” said Carla Tollett, Director of marketing and Foundation. “The volunteers are so giving and thoughtful. They always have patient satisfaction in mind.”
Volunteer drivers work four-hour shifts, and more volunteers are needed.
Those interested in volunteering for this service, or any other service at Unity Health Center, should contact Ardella Armstrong at 878-3496.
