Sisters at Heart, a women’s ministry of Wesley United Methodist Church, will host a February program for women, presented by Cathy Myers, Feb. 23 at the church, 302 E. Independence.
Myers, a Shawnee resident, has led women’s meetings and conferences in many churches in the past years. She will speak about “Love: Our Greatest Weapon” during the Feb. 23 program.
The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a snack dinner and fellowship, complete with games and devotional and prayer at 7 p.m. Myers’ message will follow the prayer.
Music will be provided by Sara Ledford, Worship Arts director at the church.
Myers is the current Pottawatomie County prayer coordinator through Billy Wilson’s Ministry of Awakening America, which focuses on praying for revival in all of America. During the past two years, she has led the Sept. 11 Courthouse Remembrance programs with state Reps. Shane Jett and Kris Steele.
She also has been the host of a Christian radio talk show, “Joy Comes in the Morning,” on Daystar television. And she has ministered in Native American churches, as well as serving as a leader in the Aglow Lighthouse ministries for seven years.
The Sisters at Heart program is open to all women and aims to help them grow closer to Jesus Christ through hearing the stories and testimonies shared by other women.
