Faith Community Church of God, 2019 E MacArthur Shawnee, sent 21 volunteers to Joplin, Mo. where a devastating EF5 multiple vortex tornado struck the city on Sunday, May 22. Faith Community's "Project Joplin" volunteered through Abundant Life Christian Center in Joplin which has housed over 3,000 volunteers since the disaster. The group spent time sorting through donations, cleaning up debris and demoing a house.
"The devastation in Joplin is unbelievable but the spirit of the people is even more impressive" said James Eustace who organized the mission trip.
Project Joplin hopes to go back to deliver donated supplies next month.
