Attention Medicare Beneficiaries: Is a check up scheduled for the 2010 Medicare Part D prescription drug plan? If not, now is the time. Open enrollment for Medicare Part D is Nov. 15 through Dec. 31.
COEDD Area Agency on Aging is hosting a Check-Up and Enrollment Fair in Shawnee to educate Medicare beneficiaries and/or family members about the 2010 prescription drug coverage options and to help compare and enroll participants in a plan.
This fair is intended for seniors who need to sign up for Part D for the first time, as well as for those who need to review their current plan to be sure it is the most beneficial one for them.
Each year, plans change their premiums and what they cover.
The Enrollment Fair will be held at the Shawnee Senior Citizens Center, 401 North Bell, on two dates: 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16 and Wednesday, Nov. 18.
This event is open to the public.
People who attend will need to bring their Medicare card and current prescription medications in bottles with labels that list complete medication name and dosage.
If someone is currently enrolled in a Medicare prescription drug plan, bring the current card.
If someone cannot make it to this event, individual in-office appointments will be available by calling Kristi Tischer with COEDD Area Agency on Aging at 405-273-6410 x128 or 1-800-375-8255 x128.
