Collier finishes training

Army Pvt. Joseph L. Collier has graduated from the Aerial Delivery Specialist/Parachute Rigger Course at the 262nd Quartermaster Battalion, Fort Lee, Petersburg, Va.
The course is designed to train servicemembers to repair textile and canvas items, webbed equipment and clothing; inspect, pack, rig, recover, store, inventory and maintain personnel parachutes and airdrop equipment. Airdrop equipment includes troop and cargo parachutes, platforms, cushioning materials and extraction and release systems.
Students are trained to rig supplies, equipment and vehicles for airdrop, and use and maintain machines and tools for fabrication, modification and repair to parachute and other airdrop equipment.
Joseph is the brother of Clayton W. Collier, Shawnee, and Caleb W. Collier, McLoud. He is a 2004 graduate of Shawnee High School.
