More than 180 students, from Shawnee, Tecumseh, Meeker, McLoud and Oklahoma City, performed a variety of dances during the 32nd annual Girls’ Night Out recital on May 24 at Rose State College’s Performing Arts Center.
The dances included jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, pointe, modern and hip-hop styles.
Graduating seniors Summer Randall and Katie Tucker performed solos and a duet for guests at the event.
Competition students who competed in various events in March and April were acknowledged for their achievements and awards, as well.
In the Encore Performing Arts Showcase, all of the highest scores for overall competition in the Junior Large Groups category were from the Shawnee Academy of Ballet.
Shawnee Academy of Ballet students also were the only winners of the highest scores overall in the Senior Large Groups category of the StageOne Dance Competition.
