Katie McLaughlin and Jeff Cannon, both of Shawnee, were united in marriage August 1, 2009, at the First Baptist Church in Shawnee with the Rev. Dr. Kevin Tully presiding.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. Clay McLaughlin and Susan McLaughlin of Shawnee.
The groom is the son of Mr. Mark Cannon and Mary Jane Cannon of Shawnee.
Maids of honor were Bethanie and Abby McLaughlin, sisters of the bride, of Shawnee. Bridesmaids were Carrie Wong of Lantana, Texas, and Rachel Stuart of Shawnee.
Best man was John Mark Cannon, brother of the groom, of Greeley, Colo. Groomsmen were Clint Shaw of Newcastle and Jordan McLaughlin of Shawnee.
Flower girls were Lexi Wong and Abbey Cannon. Ring bearer was Nathan Wong.
Musicians were Ron Lewis on the organ, Dub Ambrose and Katie Overl doing vocals and Thresa Swadley on the cello.
House party consisted of Emily Stuart, Sarah Stuart, Jaymi Allen, Jessica Moore, Taylor Fincher and Madison Sparkman.
The bride wore a strapless, beaded gown with chapel length train and sweetheart neckline. She also wore a decorative hair piece that was something borrowed, a blue handkerchief attached to the bouquet by her grandma’s cameo pendant for something blue and something old. Bridesmaids wore champaigne and lace tea-length dresses with light pink bouquets of roses.
The couple honeymooned in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. They will live in Shawnee.
