Masonic Lodge presents awards

On April 29, the Shawnee Masonic Temple presented Masonic Youth Awards in three categories: Students of Today, Teachers of Today and the Donald W. Askins Memorial Scholarship.
Recipients for the Students of Today Awards were as follows:
Hayden Coker and Maria Messick from Bethel Elementary; Hailey Blaylock and Jesse Carter from Bethel Upper Elementary; Abigail Hagans and Ethan Gingrich from Bethel Middle School; Jace Johnson and Kimber West from Bethel High School.
Hannah Jett and Luke Ball from Grove School; Thomas Sheperd and Jessica Liles from Horace Mann Elementary; Jessie Ray and Cole Livernois from Jefferson Elementary; Mychal Wood and Jessica Ellis from North Rock Creek; Dana Matanane and Miranda Dent from Pleasant Grove School; Mason George and Madison George from Sequoyah Elementary; Mackinzie Dye and Anthony Horse from Shawnee Early Childhood Center; Rosa Moon-Escamilla and Connor Rutherford from Shawnee Middle School. Andrea Kellogg and Ben Buchanan from Shawnee High School; John Paul Meier and Kathryn Loeffler from South Rock Creek and Brianna Roark and Garrett Stallings from Will Rogers Elementary.
Teachers of Today Awards went to Janet Landess, Bethel Elementary; Kami Baker, Bethel Upper Elementary; Tina Moon, Bethel Middle School; Stephanie Thornburg, Bethel High School; Beth Hatley, Grove School; Adrienne Ponder, Horace Mann Elementary; Kelli Brown, Jefferson Elementary; Bob Cain, North Rock Creek; Teresa Askin, Pleasant Grove School; Jane Callahan, Sequoyah Elementary; Tami Ward, Shawnee Early Childhood Center; Tim McDaniel, Shawnee Middle School; Amy Boysen, Shawnee High Schook; Beverly Turner, South Rock Creek and Tara Wilson, Will Rogers Elementary.
Recipients were also name dfor the Donald W. Askins Memorial Scholarship. Ashlee Lorene Washburn of Bethel High School and Abigail S. Meisel of Shawnee High School both received scholarships.
Master of Ceremonies was Steve Peters. Cecil Johnston gave the invocation. Cub Scout Packs 402 and 404 presented the flag. Frank Plumley, Cubmaster of Pack 424 led the Pledge of Allegiance. Bob Peters introduced award recipients and W.M. William Walker from Lodge 107 gave the students awards.
