The Oklahoma State Fire Marshal’s Office has ruled cause of the fire that destroyed an Earlsboro home late Friday as undetermined.
Intense flames engulfed the home at 16710 Kings Road, about a mile south of SH 3. A cold front moving through the area with gusty winds Friday night helped fuel the flames, which quickly devoured the home.
Earlsboro and Shawnee firefighters responded to the fire about 11 p.m.
JoAnn Sellars, field operations chief at the State Fire Marshal’s office, said case agents believe the fire originated near an entertainment center in a downstairs bedroom of the two-story wood frame house.
Sellars, who said the cause is yet undetermined, noted that the fire does not appear to be suspicious.
The home’s occupants weren’t home at the time of the fire. Upon returning home, they noticed the house was on fire and went to a family member’s home on the same property to call the fire department.
The 2,200 square-foot home was a total loss and damage from the blaze was estimated at $175,000, Sellars said. The homeowners were insured, she said.
No injuries were reported.
