The Individual Artists of Oklahoma, or IAO, will sponsor an open mike poetry reading at 7 p.m. at Benedict Street Marketplace. Sandra Soli, an Oklahoma poet and winner of the 2008 Oklahoma Book Award for Poetry, will be the featured reader.
The Laureate Alpha Tau chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will meet at 7 p.m. at Kay’s house. Ann will serve as co-hostess. New officers will be installed and favors will be made for the Founders Day celebration.
Bill Ford, president of Shawnee Milling Company, will speak at 8:30 a.m. at the Diamond K Kiwanis meeting at the Senior Citizen Center. Ford will talking about Shawnee Milling Co., and will discuss plans and progress for the Veterans Memorial at Woodland Park.

Theron Perry, age 12, will perform 10:30 a.m. for the AARP Chapter 2654 at Liberty Baptist Church. Perry, a seventh-grader in Bristow, plays banjo, guitar, piano and saxophone and has performed since age 3. The public is invited, but those attending are asked to RSVP for the lunch, which costs $5.
