ROOKIE DRILL — New probationary Shawnee Firefighter Scott Brown takes a test at Shawnee Fire Station No. 1 Tuesday. His battalion chief put him through a set of time drills to test him putting on his firefighting gear, including his SCBA — Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus, along with his helmet and mask, all in efforts to be ready to fight a fire. Brown completed the drill in good time — 23 seconds.
