A Konawa man and a Moore woman were injured early Sunday after their pickup ran off a roadway in Seminole County and rolled.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the accident occurred about 4 a.m. on County Road NS 352, just north of EW 114.
A 2006 Ford pickup driven by Christopher Stone, 18, Konawa, was northbound on NS 352 when the truck ran off the east side the road, the OHP said. Stone overcorrected, the patrol said, causing the truck to run off the west side of the road. The truck went into a broad slide and rolled two times, coming to rest on its wheels, the OHP said. Stone was ejected an unknown distance, troopers reported.
Stone was transported by Konawa EMS to Valley View Hospital in Ada, where he was admitted in critical condition for head and internal trunk injuries, the report shows. A hospital representative said Stone was listed in serious condition late Monday.
His passenger, Samantha Guyer, 18, Moore, went by private vehicle to the same hospital, where she was treated for head, leg and trunk injuries, then released.
Cause of the collision was listed on the report as being alcohol-related, the patrol said.
Guyer was wearing a seat belt. Trooper Brian Iker of the Seminole County detachment worked the investigation with help from Trooper Jim Parish, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office and Konawa EMS.
