A Meeker man was killed Monday in Beaver County when his tractor-trailer veered off a highway.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Harry James Thompson, 65, died at the scene.
The accident occurred about 8:23 p.m. as Thompson drove a 1999 Peterbilt southbound on U.S. 83, about eight miles north of Bryans Corner.
The patrol said Thompson’s truck veered off the left side of the road and went through a barbed wire fence before it traveled down a ravine and rolled one-quarter time into a sand pit. Troopers said he died at the scene from internal injuries.
Cause of the collision remains under investigation, the OHP report shows.
The OHP said seat belts were not in use.
Troopers from the Beaver and Guymon detachments, along with those from the size and weights division, investigated the accident scene.
