The St. Gregory’s University Spirit and Sole Dance Ensemble will present its fall concert Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. inside Sarkeys Performing Arts Center. The concert will include students of the SGU Dance Academy, an instructional program for children ages three and up.
The performance will be split into two acts made up of 23 multi-themed pieces of many styles of dance – including tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, musical theatre and modern.
The Spirit and Sole Dance Ensemble is one of three dance companies at SGU. The SGU Dance Academy, which is taught by current SGU dance students as a practicum experience, is in its fourth year.
“Our shows are getting more popular every year,” said SGU Dance Director Liz Reiter. “We’re really excited about incorporating the kids, and we think it will make for an even more enjoyable experience for the community.”
The performance venue is general admission with admission prices being $8 for persons 12 and older, $4 for persons ages 6-12 as well as students with a valid ID, and free for those less than six years of age. SGU students, faculty and staff get in free. No video recorders or cameras are allowed. Doors open at 7 p.m.
