A Pottawatomie County man wanted on four bench warrants was captured after he ran from a Cleveland County deputy during a minor traffic stop Thursday morning.
Cleveland County sheriff’s spokesman Capt. Doug Blaine said Kwame Ronaldo Robinson, 25, of Shawnee was stopped about 9:30 a.m. Thursday at 180th Avenue SE and SH 9, where he was driving a vehicle westbound.
He gave a bogus name when first stopped. After questioning, he exited the car and ran, he said. The manhunt through the area woods on ground and by air was called off before 1 p.m., when the man apparently was spotted at Thunderbird Casino.
Blaine said Robinson’s bench warrants include possession of controlled dangerous substances/marijuana; petty larceny; failure to pay fines; conspiracy to commit robbery; and obstructing an officer.
He also was driving while under suspension, Blaine said.
