TECUMSEH, Okla. —

A 7-year-old Tecumseh boy was injured Tuesday evening when the vehicle he was riding in rear-ended a stopped dually truck and rolled, police said.
Tecumseh Police Lt. J.R. Kidney said the accident occurred about 7:27 p.m. at Bob Crouch and Gordon Cooper Drive.
A 2002 Dodge dually, driven by Joseph Darren Stafford, 45, Tecumseh, was westbound on Bob Crouch Drive and was stopped at the stop sign while waiting to make a turn, Kidney said.
The accident occurred when another westbound vehicle, a 1995 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Otes Hatton, 36, Tecumseh, was behind the dually and didn’t stop in time, Kidney said. The Grand Am clipped the back of Stafford’s Dodge pickup, causing it to roll one and half times before coming to rest on its top, he said.
The boy in the Grand Am, who was reported to be Hatton’s son, was pinned in the vehicle, Kidney said. Tecumseh firefighters arrived and were able to free the child without extrication, he said. A Medi Flight helicopter responded to the area and transported the boy to OU Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries, Kidney said.
Otes Hatton went by REACT EMS ambulance to Unity Heath Center with unspecified injuries. Kidney said a blood kit test was being taken because there was suspicion of driving while under the influence. Tecumseh Officer Joe McGirt worked the accident scene.
Kidney said Stafford was not injured.
