A 57-year-old Prague woman was killed over the weekend, and two suspects are jailed in Lincoln County on first-degree murder complaints as authorities try to determine a motive for the killing.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation was called by Prague police to assist in the probe. OSBI Spokeswoman Jessica Brown said authorities responded to 1017 1/2 Klabzuba Ave. Saturday morning, where Sheryl Lynn Haven was found dead inside that home.
Brown said Haven’s granddaughter, age 9, lived with her in the home. The granddaughter’s friend made the discovery.
Investigators were on the scene for about 23 hours, Brown said, with the probe resulting in the arrest of Levi Ellis, 28, and Timothy Stevens, 19, both of Prague. They are being held without bond in the Lincoln County jail in Chandler.
Brown said the suspects and the victim did know each other, but Brown said they are not related.
Brown said investigators found signs of trauma on Haven’s body, but it will be up to the medical examiner to determine an official cause of death; that information is awaited.
Brown said agents do have an idea on a motive for the killing, and no further information was being released as the investigation continued.
