Autopsy results and official cause of death are awaited for a Prague woman who was killed over the weekend. Two suspects are in custody as the investigation continues.
Sheryl Lynn Hazen, 57, was found dead Saturday morning, said Jessica Brown, spokeswoman for the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
Authorities responded to Hazen’s home, 1017 1/2 Klabzuba Ave., where Hazen lived with her granddaughter, 9. The granddaughter’s friend discovered Hazen’s body, Brown said.
Investigators found signs of trauma on Hazen’s body, but it will be up to the medical examiner to determine an official cause of death.
Within 24 hours of beginning their probe, authorities arrested two suspects in connection with her death. Levi Ellis, 28, and Timothy Stevens, 19, both of Prague, were jailed in Lincoln County on first-degree murder complaints. Formal charges have not been filed.
The suspects and the victim did know each other, but Brown said they are not related. Brown said agents do have an idea on a motive for the killing; the investigation is continuing.
