In appreciation of the community support it receives each year, Unity Health Center will hold a free, holiday lighting ceremony at 6 p.m., Nov. 30 at the main entrance of its north campus.
“The hospital is doing something it has never done before,” Carla Tollett, Unity marketing director, said. “We are putting Christmas lights on the outside of the building. It will be over a quarter of a mile worth of lights, covering the first, second, third and fourth floors on the front of the hospital.”
Outdoor Lighting Perspectives, a local company, will professionally install the lights prior to the ceremony, Tollett said.
The hospital is “inviting the community to share in the experience with us” and will have free hot cocoa, cider and cookies for guests from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tollett said. Visitors also will have the opportunity to have their photo taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus and will receive a free five-by-seven photograph to take home.
In addition, carolers will join in the celebration to help kick off the Christmas season, Tollett said.
“It’s something we’re going to build on each year,” she said. “We plan to have it the first Monday after Thanksgiving every year.”
