After a three-day filing period for school boards seats, elections are now set in three districts — Dale, Macomb and Wanette — while candidates seeking positions on other school boards won their seats without opposition.
The election for the three district races is Feb. 10. If no candidates get at least 50 percent of the votes plus one, a run-off will be held April 7.
In Dale, five candidates are vying for the Office No. 4 seat. Incumbent Kendall Wahpepah is being challenged by Angela McKinney, Kile Furr, Keith Cook and Brian Lawson
There’s also five candidates seeking the Macomb office No. 4 seat. Mary J. Sulivant drew opponents in Joe Delossantos, William Denney, Scott Hawkins and Barry Boydstun.
For Wanette’s Office No. 4, Clifford Lowery is challenging incumbent Lynda Fullingim.
Other school board seats in the following districts were won without opposition.
• Shawnee: Bo Bohuslavicky retains the Office No. 5 seat for another four-year term and David Parsons keeps his Office. No. 7 seat, also a four-year term.
• Earlsboro: Taking the Office No. 4 seat is Rachell L. Jones and Jamie A. Baker won the four-year unexpired term for Office No. 3
• Asher: Randy Stevens retains the Office No. 4 seat.
• Tecumseh: Incumbent Kody Smith was unopposed for the Office No. 4 seat.
