A Prague woman was killed Tuesday afternoon when her pickup ran off Econtuchka Road and overturned.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Francis D. Clemens, 67, died at the scene from blunt trauma.

The accident occurred about 4:50 p.m. as she was driving a 2004 Chevrolet pickup northbound on Econtuchka Road, about one mile south of Moccasin Trail in Pottawatomie County.

Lt. Troy German’s report shows her vehicle ran off the roadway to the left. She overcorrected, the OHP said, causing her vehicle to overturn onto its top before it ran off the roadway and rolled another one-fourth time, ejecting her.

OHP said seat belts were not in use and the airbag in the pickup did not deploy.
Clemens was a homemaker who loved to ride horses, fish and cook. She and her husband, Neil, had recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Cooper Funeral Chapel in Tecumseh. Full obituary information is printed on Page 4A.

German was assisted in the accident investigation by Trooper Kevin Logan, deputies with the Pottawatomie County sheriff’s office, Kickapoo tribal police and the Shawnee Fire Department. REACT EMS medics also responded to the scene.
