“The Happening:” Mark Wahlberg plays a man who takes his family on the run when the world turns upside down and a cataclysmic natural crisis threatens to end the world. Also starring are Zooey Deschanel and John Leguizamo. Director is M. Night Shyamalan. (R: for violent and disturbing images) Showing on two screens.
“Kung Fu Panda:” Enthusiastic, big and a little clumsy, Po is the biggest fan of Kung Fu around ... which doesn’t exactly come in handy while working in his family’s noodle shop. Unexpectedly chosen to fulfill an ancient prophecy, Po’s dreams become reality when he joins the world of Kung Fu and studies alongside his idols. But before they know it, the vengeful and treacherous snow leopard Tai Lung is headed their way, and it’s up to Po to defend everyone from the oncoming threat. Featuring the voices of Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan, Lucy Liu and more. (PG: for sequences of martial arts action) Showing on two screens.
“The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian:” This tale finds the Pevensie siblings pulled back into the land of Narnia, where a thousand years have passed since they left. The children are again enlisted to join the colorful creatures of Narnia in combating an evil villain who prevents the rightful prince from ruling the land. “Prince Caspian” was first published in 1951 and is the fourth book in the seven-book series written by C.S. Lewis. It was intended as a continuation of “The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.” (2 hours, 20 minutes) (PG: for epic battle action and violence)
“Iron Man:” Tony Stark, a billionaire industrialist and genius inventor, is kidnapped and forced to build a devastating weapon. Instead, using his intelligence and ingenuity, Tony builds a high-tech suit of armor and escapes captivity. When he uncovers a nefarious plot with global implications, he dons his powerful armor and vows to protect the world as Iron Man. (2 hours, 6 minutes) (PG-13: for intense sequences of sci-fi action and violence, and brief suggestive content)
