“The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian:” “Prince Caspian” finds the Pevensie siblings pulled back into the land of Narnia, where a thousand years have passed since they left. The children are once again enlisted to join the colorful creatures of Narnia in combating an evil villain who prevents the rightful Prince from ruling the land. “Prince Caspian” was first published in 1951, and is the fourth book in the seven-book series written by Lewis. It was intended as a continuation of “The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.” (2 hrs. 20 min) (PG for epic battle action and violence) Special preview Thursday
“Speed Racer:” Based on the classic 1960s series created by anime pioneer Tatsuo Yoshida that later was retooled for North American audiences, the big-screen film will follow the adventures of the young race car driver Speed in his quest for glory in his thundering gadget-laden vehicle, Mach 5. The movie will feature other characters from the show, including Speed’s family and his mysterious archrival, Racer X. “Made of Honor:” “Made of Honor” is a male-driven romantic comedy about a guy (Dempsey) whose dream girl asks him to be her maid of honor. He agrees in an attempt to win her heart. (1 hr. 40 min.) (PG-13 for sexual content and language)
“Iron Man:” Tony Stark, a billionaire industrialist and genius inventor, is kidnapped and forced to build a devastating weapon. Instead, using his intelligence and ingenuity, Tony builds a high-tech suit of armor and escapes captivity. When he uncovers a nefarious plot with global implications, he dons his powerful armor and vows to protect the world as Iron Man. (2 hrs. 6 min) (PG-13: for intense sequences of sci-fi action and violence, and brief suggestive content)
“Baby Mama:” Successful and single businesswoman Kate Holbrook (Tina Fey) has long put her career ahead of a personal life. Now 37, she’s finally determined to have a kid on her own. But her plan is thrown a curve ball after she discovers she has only a million-to-one chance of getting pregnant. Undaunted, the driven Kate allows South Philly working girl Angie Ostrowiski (Amy Poehler) to become her unlikely surrogate. Simple enough? Maybe not. Also starring are Greg Kinnear and Sigourney Weaver. (PG-13: for crude and sexual humor, language and a drug reference)
“Nim’s Island:” Anything can happen on Nim’s Island, a magical place ruled by a young girl’s imagination. It is an existence that mirrors that of her favorite literary character, Alex Rover, the world’s greatest adventurer. But Alexandra, the author of the Rover books, leads a reclusive life in the big city. When Nim’s father goes missing from their island, a twist of fate brings her together with Alexandra. Now, they must draw courage from their fictional hero, Alex Rover, and find strength in one another to conquer Nim’s Island. Starring are Jodie Foster and Abigail Breslin (PG: for mild adventure action and brief language)
