On Thursday, Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Deputy Marcus Mays passed out Christmas hams to unsuspecting motorists. Pictured is Tara Matlock.
Eighty hams were purchased by the Sheriff's Reserve Program and this is the first year deputies have passed out hams to random motorists.
“We decided to go out and spread a little Christmas cheer,” Lt. Jimmy Brewer said. “There is such negativity around law enforcment. We just want the community to know Sheriff Booth, and the entire office is here for the community and we want to work together with the community.”
