Peggy Camp, 79, of Tecumseh, passed away Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017, in Shawnee.

Tecumseh resident Peggy Camp, 79, passed away Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017.

She was born July 8, 1937, in Humnoke, Arkansas, to Elmo and Lois (Bennett) Rockwell. Raised in Lordsburg, New Mexico, she moved to Bethany, Oklahoma, in 1962. She then moved to the Tecumseh/Macomb area in 1974 and had lived there since.

She married Eual E. Camp on Feb. 4, 1956, in Lordsburg, New Mexico, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 2010.

Peggy worked at Pratt Foods in Tecumseh until retirement. She also worked as a substitute teacher at Macomb School for many years. Peggy also volunteered her time at Macomb as president of the Athletic Booster Club and President of the Macomb Youth Association. She also worked as an election official at the Macomb Post. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two sisters-Mary Terhorst and Elizabeth Smith.

Peggy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Lisa Camp; grandchildren, Hailey and Jayce all of Tecumseh; sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Chester Hough of El Paso, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, James and Lori Rockwell of Sunland Park, New Mexico; personal adopted nephew, Steve Eaton of Roswell, New Mexico; special friends, Gary and Sandie Kinsey of Tecumseh; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.

Visitation will begin 9 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 5, and continue through service time. Family gathering to meet with friends and family will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 5, at Cooper Funeral Home.

Service will be 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 6, at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jeff Nance, Temple of Praise in Seminole, officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh. Services will conclude at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel.
