An investigation continues into a large grass fire that burned about 300 acres a week ago west of Shawnee.

The large fire threatened many homes and destroyed a few structures. The fire was in an area around Fishmarket and Lake Roads.

Pottawatomie County Undersheriff Travis Palmer said a homeowner's surveillance camera captured a vehicle driving by, with images showing the fire starting right behind it. Palmer said whatever was thrown started the fire.

Palmer asks anyone in the area with cameras to also take a look at their footage to see if anything might be helpful for investigators.
